Advice Options

We provide clear and convenient ways for you to obtain initial legal advice. We set out below how to use the service but, if you are not sure how to proceed, please telephone us without commitment.

A Preliminary Advice for £75 plus VAT

This is a telephone advice. This is likely to last about half and hour and our advice will be confirmed in writing. This is suitable for many general enquiries.

An Initial Assessment for £150 plus VAT

This is for a telephone advice where we need to look at your documents first. This is suitable for many general enquiries but where there are relevant documents which need to be considered. We will ask you to send us the relevant documents by email, fax or post so that we can read them prior to the telephone discussion. Our discussion is likely to last about half and hour and our advice will be confirmed in writing.

A Consultation for £150 plus VAT

This is a consultation in person for the purpose of providing legal advice which is likely to last about one hour and which will be confirmed in writing. If we arrange to see you at a business location other than our office, we may add a room booking fee to the cost of the consultation. We will tell you the amount of the booking fee before the consultation is confirmed.

Payment on Account of Costs

As your case progresses, we work to stage limits – so that you always have an agreed commitment. We agree with you the work that is required at each stage and we invite you to make a payment for this. We will not exceed this limit without your authority. At the end of the stage we will review the progress made and agree with you whether further work is required and, if so, we will agree a further stage limit. Stage limits will also include any payments to be made for expenses we expect to incur on your behalf, such as court fees. If any sum paid on account is not required, it will be returned to you.
